Hi There,

Sorry to hear you have had a bad night, there is nothing worse. I think sleep really helps and when your sleep is affected then things seem so much worse. Have you tried heat or cold treatments, I used to find heat on sore joints really helpful. I am Lorna nice to see you posting. I have had RA for just over 3 years, I was very badly affected at the start, but keep so much better now due to the triple therapy treatment I received. Hope you get some relief soon, take care.

Afternoon,

Welcome to the forum, and sorry that you are having such a difficult time at night, nothing worse !

I am no expert having only actually started the right drugs back in February 10, but it might be worth posting about your meds for advice as I really don t think just taking paracetamol is necessarily sufficient at the moment. I find co codamol 30/500 fairly good, but we are all different with our RA.

You will get advice and support like nowhere else, on here ThumpUp

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hello!

Oh no ... tell me about it! Isn't it horrible when all you want to do is sleep but the dratted discomfort from bad joints just won't let you. Do post on the 'new members' thread and tell us a little about yourself.

Glad you have found NRAS and the forum, a great place to be for friendship, information based on personal experiences and lots of useful thoughts. I'm Lyn, diagnosed with sero-negative RA 23 years ago. On a bucket load of meds, but heyho ...

Look forward to getting to know you,

Lyn x

Hello,

Yes have suffered in the past and no doubt will again in the future, pain free at the moment, I'm not gloating but letting you know there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm Anne diagnosed in May 2010 and the night pain always seems the worst.

Really hope you get some stronger pain killers that suit you.

hi and welcome!

spent many a night being uncomfortable and in huge pain.

I take a lot of meds to help- you do need a drug review probably but the GP can help with the pain.

You need some big guns pain relief.

I note you have paracetamol- you need to take this for back ground pain- so DO take it, maximum allowed dose and then it brings up you level of pain tollerance and evens out the peaks and troughs a bit.

i take co-codamol (paracetamol and codeine 500/30) and zomorph which is slow release morphine. I also have oramorph on top when things are awful.

there are others available I know of.

there are NO medals for martrydom! take the damn pills (yes we all hate them!)

I am Jenni btw- 35, married, 3 children, severe RA etc!

jenni xx
